Jo Jo’s Traveling Teatime began with a suitcase full of dreams, a love of British tradition, and a journey that crossed an ocean. Growing up in Nottingham, England, Joanne’s (Jo Jo) childhood was filled with weekend visits to relatives who treated afternoon tea like a treasured ritual. The moment she walked through the door, she’d be met with the clink of china and the comforting sight of biscuits, (typically Ginger Nuts), a slice of cake and a humble cheese and beetroot sandwich. Those warm, generous gatherings taught her that teatime was never just about the food. It was about hospitality, connection, and creating small moments of joy, a lesson she has carried with her ever since.
At 17, she moved to the United States, carrying those traditions with her and discovering that the joy of afternoon tea was something she wanted to share. Over the years, she wandered through antique shops and thrift stores across two countries, searching for unique cups, saucers, teapots, and treasures with character. Every piece she found added a bit of history and personality to her growing collection, creating a one-of-a-kind assortment that now brings charm and authenticity to every teatime she hosts. What started as a personal passion slowly became a vision for something more.
Jo Jo’s Traveling Teatime was created to bring the elegance, warmth, and nostalgia of a classic English afternoon tea experience to homes, celebrations, and gatherings across the region. Every event is thoughtfully crafted, from the hand-selected cups and saucers to the freshly baked scones and lovingly prepared sandwiches. It’s an experience built from heritage, heart, and decades of devotion to the art of teatime.
Today, Jo Jo’s Traveling Teatime continues to blend tradition and hospitality, offering guests a chance to slow down, connect, and savor a timeless ritual that has been close to Joanne‘s heart since her earliest days in Nottingham.
